Caramel Apple Trifle
Caramel Apple Trifle
- Two Loaves of Deliciously Simple Butter Pound Cake cut into 1-inch cubes
- Three tablespoons butter
- 4 cups chopped peeled tart apples (Granny Smiths or tart apple of your choice)
- 1 cup Pecans toasted and chopped
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- One teaspoon of apple pie spice divided
- One package (8 ounces) of Philly Cream Cheese, softened
- One jar (12-1/4 ounces) of caramel ice cream topping divided
- One Quart Heavy Whipping Cream Whipped to medium soft peaks from
- 12 ¼ ounces caramel Ice Cream Topping (Divided)
- Add Additional Apple Pie Spice (Optional)
- Place Pecans on a baking sheet in a 325-degree oven for 8 mins to toast.
Directions
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in the apples, toasted pecans, brown sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of apple pie spice. Cook and stir for 6-8 minutes or until the apples are tender but not mushy!
- In a large bowl, beat Philly Cream Cheese until smooth. Beat in 1/2 cup caramel topping and remaining apple pie spice. Fold in 2 cups of whipped Heavy Whipping Cream.
- In a 3-1/2-qt. trifle bowl or glass serving bowl, layer a third of the cake cubes, cream cheese mixture, and apple mixture. Repeat layers twice. Garnish with remaining whipped cream and drizzle with remaining caramel topping. Sprinkle with additional apple pie spice if desired. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
